EDGEWOOD, MD — When Myesha Parker's handmade candle business was just getting started, her son Reynard ended his life. He remains her inspiration and a line of candles through Parker's business, La'Mai Candle Co., honors his memory.
"My candle business is dedicated to the memory of my son Reynard who died by suicide in December 2021. Reynard was by my side when I first started making candles and gave me the push I needed to begin selling them. He requested for me to make him some candles in his favorite scents. I ordered his first scent for me and he passed away five days later," Parker told Patch. "My goal for La’Mai is to bring a light to those who are mentally in a dark place, especially teens, young adults and those who suffer from depression in silence." Bdsm Tape
Reynard aka Nardo's special memorial line is called the Forever 18 Collection.
La'Mai candles are hand poured and made with a soy blend. Parker crafts luxury candles, fragrance candles, massage candles and wax melts. La'Mai candles are free from toxic chemicals and dyes, and are vegan, carcinogen free, toxin free and phthalate free.
La'Mai has a special formulation for its massage candles that include soy wax, shea and coco butter along with almond oil and vitamin E. Some of the scents include strawberry and crème macaroon, fruity loops, cinnamon toast, black diamond and citrus mint.
Accessories available include car diffuses, crystal and beaded bracelets, an electric lighter, body butter, perfume roller, Palo Santo sticks, wax warmer, dried flowers and wick trimmers.
Most of Parker's customers are based in Harford County, but she does receive orders from across the United States.
"I love the support I receive and the wonderful feedback I get from my customers," Parker said.
